Hubby was knocked out last night 6pm and did not wake up
until 9:30am this morning. I woke up sick in night with a terrible cold and
sore throat as expected. Beauty wok up with classic tourist symptoms of cramps
and dizziness and being and not being able to eat. (ps I am sick bc they
switched mine and hubby toothbrush!!!!)
I looked out the window at 8:30am to clouds and clouds
and no sun-AGAIN.
This is what I was going to write:
You
know what? Weather does fucking matter!!! 2014 has been a hot mess –don’t we deserve
a break or a little sun at least? I am going to officially call my blog”In search
of Sun…friggin clouds go away! And PS-stop sickness and illness in this family!
But you know what? Today ended up being one of my fave
days of vacay actually. Yes I am sick but very talented at over medicating,
myself and ignoring it. Yes Beauty has not eaten all day and laid in the shade
sick on a chair, yes it was cloudy a good part of day. But then things turned
around and the beautiful sun peeked through the clouds juts enough to heat us
up and satisfy us, I read a book, we talked and laughed all day and I told the
kids what I almost wrote on the blog (with swear words in tact), we had a photographer
do pics on the beach-even with a sick mamma, a still fairly sick papa and a
very sick daughter-and we looked great! We relaxe so much today and had an
awesome breakfast (those of us who ate). Tonight is the free dinner on the beach.
All the newlyweds and us at our own table. We are super excited even though
half of us feel like shit.
We had a super duper day. My best yet. The sun heard us
and came out to shine a few hrs. The boys played beach volleyball for hours and
sunbathed. Beauty slept and listed to my IPod. We all laughed our heads off
(maybe minus really sick Hubby) and screamed “ballsack” instead of cheese for
our pictures (yes we are a very odd family I know!!!)
We had fun. I am loving these teens of ours and loving
that we made this trip still happen. I love that we can still love it-even through
this madness.
I love the pictures we got and the smile and joy on our
faces (to be posted when back home). I love what we have created in this
unpredictable life we lead.
I love our cocoon.
I love …who I have become as a Mom….and I love that it
took me a whole lot of work to get here.
