I love watching my daughter grow up.
It is such a privilege.
They play of girls-it fascinates me. So very different than the play of boys.
Two girls communicating, empathizing, understanding, creating, imagining, sharing. It is lovely to watch my daughter and her new friend at play.
The sweet gesture of a gift to the hostess of sparkly barrettes, the gracious acceptance of the gift from my daughter. Hugging at the end and promises for sleepovers.
I love seeing my daughter blossoming into everything she was ever meant to be. I love seeing her uniqueness, her kindness and her inquisitive side. I love the fact that others love to be around her. I love the fact that she is perfectly herself in every interaction.
Girls focus on manners and hostess roles. The two little sweethearts discussed who should choose the first cupcake this time and next time they visit. It was more important to each of them to please the other than to be pleased themselves.
I love seeing in my daughter all the values, ideas and traditions that we have worked so hard on all these years together. It is such a pleasure to see the type of gentle friend my daughter can be.
I loved watching these two little girls together tonight. Two little flowers themselves with a friendship between them blossoming.
I would take tonight every single time over a real bouquet of flowers. Happy Valentine's day to me.
